Kristen Grainger
Kristen Grainger serves as Vice President and Executive Assistant to Willamette President Lee Pelton. In this capacity, she is the administrative secretary and chief liaison to the Willamette University Board of Trustees. She also serves as supervisor and budget manager for the President's Office and the Office of Institutional Research and Planning Support; and has other duties such as speechwriting, community relations and media relations, and serves as the University's ADA appeals officer.
Prior to coming to work at Willamette, Kristen worked in Oregon state politics for more than 13 years as a journalist, a lobbyist, then was appointed Executive Assistant to Attorney General Hardy Myers in 1996, where her principal responsibilities were media relations and legislative advocacy. She also served as communications director for Governor Ted Kulongoski's 2002 gubernatorial campaign.
Kristen is the lead singer of the bluegrass band True North.
